QR 6 Hyssopus (Hyssop)

Nicholas Culpeper's book Complete Herbal & English Physician 1653 suggests that this herb is ruled by Jupiter. His book includes Hyssop as a remedy for "inflammation in the ears and singing in the ears" and also advises that bruised Hyssop "helps those that are stung by serpents". If applied to the head, the Oil of Hyssop was believed to kill lice!
